i have been getting heart pieces before gettting the master Sword. I noticed that quite a few are in a ravine just below the mountain area. I explored a bit and saw a ladder that leads down there, but no way to hookshot over there. is there a secret entrence I am missing? Also, there is one surrounded by statues in the Fire land. how do i get in to the center?

Anyway, so those in the ravine are in the same way that to go to the Master Sword, so as Zelda said your first step will be the village of spirits. (And the Dark Temple ^^).
About the one in the Fire Land, it's a labyrinth, so think about it ^^. (But sometimes, there are post hidden behind the statues >.>)
