So I got stuck again, for a few hours. I searched through the french section of the forums with google translate and found someone stuck at the exact same spot as me.

Vincent said the solution was to use the Fire Rod/Cane of Somaria/Lantern somewhere but I have no idea where. He said somewhere on Basement Floor 1, and I looked everywhere and have no clue. I assume 6th column, third row on B1, but I can't seem to melt the floor anywhere over there. Can someone help?

Okay, I figured out what they meant. You guys meant the key in Basement 2/-2, near the bottom right corner of Basement 1/-1. I already got that key, and so did the original poster in that thread. The hints/solutions provided in that thread didn't apply to the key they thought he needed. That being said, I am still stuck in the exact same spot. =|
